American forward and 2016 All-EuroLeague Team selection Quincy Miller signed a two-year contract with German League champions Brose Bamberg, according to Eurohoops sources.

The deal includes NBA and EuroLeague opt-out clauses that Miller will be able to exercise on summer 2018, if any related opportunity rises.

Miller traveled to the town of Bamberg last Tuesday in order to pass his physical and meet with head coach Andrea Trinchieri and Managing Director Rolf Beyer. They described him their plans for the upcoming season and how his game fits in them. After the discussion, Miller didn’t have any second thoughts about joining the Bavarians.

The 24-year-old player parted ways with Maccabi Tel Aviv earlier this month, after a season that didn’t exactly went as planned for him following a torn PCL injury he suffered almost one year ago. He managed 7 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in four EuroLeague games plus 3.9 points in seven matches of the Israeli League. His numbers were catapulted in the four appearances he made in the playoffs (13.5 points and 5.3 rebounds in 20 minutes per game).

Brose Bamberg approached him very soon after he was notified that he won’t continue with the Israelis. Immediately, they made clear how much they wanted to add him in their roster, something that played a great part in Miller’s decision.

Before signing with Maccabi last summer, the former Baylor Star had a dazzling debut season in Europe with Crvena Zvezda in 2015/2016. He led the Serbian club to the EuroLeague playoffs for the first time in the history of the franchise, averaging 14.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game and becoming a fan favorite in the process. Miller was named in the All-EuroLeague Second Team, the only American player that has ever achieved such a thing during his rookie year in the competition.

In his new team, Miller will reunite with Serbian forward Luka Mitrovic who was his teammate in Red Star during 2015/2016.
