The 22 years old player signed with Barcelona a five-year deal until the summer of 2022. He is expected to join Barcelona at the 2018-19 season after playing one more year for Fuenlabrada.
Rolands Smits, who played in the Eurobasket 2017 with Latvia, was named best young Eurocup player in the 2016-17 season and was also chosen in the best five of the Endesa League young players along with Barcelona’s Sasha Vezenkov.
