Fenerbahce outstood Milano’s pressure which lasted for four quarters and got away with a road win after overtime.

Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul took down AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan with 92-86 on Thursday, in Week 2 of EuroLeague after a game that lasted 45 minutes.

The star: Kostas Sloukas finished the game with 17 points, 9 assists, and notable field goal percentages!

Turning point: In overtime, Wanamaker (16 pts) and Nunnally (6 pts) paced Fenerbahce to the victory, with a partial 12-6 score.

The story of a close game: The visitors started pulling away at 6′ with two shots by Gigi Datome (14-10), yet the answer was quick by the Milano side that showcased great energy in the opening period. After 10 minutes, the Turkish side kept a two-point advantage with 23-21.

A few ties in the score followed in the second period, as Arturas Gudaitis gave the hosts a breather, making the score 29-27 at 14′. A little later on, a three-pointer by Dairis Bertans gave the hosts their biggest lead in the game (34-29). At halftime, the hosts were still in charge of the game with 38-37.

The visitors managed to pull away again at the beginning of the third quarter, yet Armani wasn’t ready to give up the fight. Kostas Sloukas scored from afar (52-48 at 25′), which turned out to be the beginning of an outbreak by the hosts, who were up 64-54 at 30′.

Fenerbahce grabbed a 10-point lead near the end of the third period, cracking through Olimpia’s defense. The hosts attempted a comeback in the final quarter and even tied the score at 80 points with 7 seconds on the shot clock as Micov succeeded in a long-distance shot.
