CSKA Moscow was challenged by Anadolu Efes yet managed to prevail on the road.

CSKA Moscow overcame Anadolu Efes Istanbul on the road with 98-80, improving its EuroLeague record to 3-1 in this season. As for the Turkish team, this marked their fourth loss in four games.

The star: Will Clyburn finished the game with 20 points and five rebounds, putting on a great show for Dimitris Itoudis’ squad.

Othello Hunter (13 points) pushed the visiting team to grab a 21-17 lead in the middle of the opening period, while Rodriguez had a perfect start as well. The hosts made a 7-0 run and managed to trip the deficit to one point after 10 minutes, 27-26.

An offensive outbreak by CSKA in the second period paced the team with a 13-point lead at 16′. A three-pointer by Krunoslav Simon (23 points) trimmed the deficit to 10 points, yet at halftime, the Russian side was still up by 54-43.

Entering the second half, the Russian team managed to restore a safe lead at 24′, with 69-52.

Turning point: By the end of the third period, CSKA’s advantage was obvious, despite Efes‘ resistance, as the former kept a 73-60 advantage after 30 minutes. As the momentum had turned into the visitors’ favor, they didn’t struggle much with keeping the advantage until the end.
