Fenerbahce Dogus prevailed 80-57 with two former Bamberg players, Nicolo Melli and Bard Wanamaker, visiting their old home and getting the “W”.

The hosts simply didn’t have the answers to Fenerbahce‘s defense and even when they kept the defending champions to 11 third-quarter points, the managed to score just 13. Οn the contrary the guests started the last period with a 10-2 run (64-48) that sealed the deal.

The star: Brose Bamberg‘s front line has its share of issues and Jan Vesely exploited them all, scoring with ease 15 points and creating a tone of issues. Without Ekpe Udoh around, Vesely has to contribute more and that’s what he did.

The key: The guests started the night with a 16-7, however, the first quarter ended with Brose Bamberg trailing by five (21-16) and then by three (21-18) with the first made shot of the second period. However, Fenerbahce built a 37-23 lead in the next five minutes and closed the halftime leading by ten (43-33).

There was no coming back for the Germans after that. Fenerbahce never felt that Brose Bamberg was threatening them and cruised to the win with ease. Kostas Sloukas with 11 points and 7 assists was also great for Fenerbahce, while Wanamaker scored 13 points and Gigi Datome has 12. Augustine Rubit with 12 points and Maodo Lo with were the only players of the hosts who scored in double digits.
