Alexey Shved recently talked to La Giornata Tipo about many interesting topics.

After spending almost three years in the NBA, he made his return to Europe, for Khimki. His life in the NBA was a lot harder than playing in Europe. Shved explains: “In America, thinking about all the little things in everyday life is harder than playing. Once you sign a contract in Russia, there are those who help you find an apartment and the team can provide you with a car, even a driver, and place every little thing off the field. It’s not like that in the NBA. You have to do everything by yourself, even shopping. ”

The decision of his return was quite easy, as he is not a travel lover. “I came back to Russia for many different reasons. Continuous trade has been a factor. One day you’re in a city, get a call and have to move somewhere else and join another team. I have not always liked this thing. Gradually I started thinking about coming back. Russia was my first option. I had offers from Turkish and Spanish Euroleague teams, but I wanted to play at home. Khimki’s call put all the pieces in place”, he mentions.

Shved also praises Georgios Bartzokas: “Coach Bartzokas is a great person and a great coach, we talk a lot, not only with me but with all the players. We have a lot of guys coming from the NBA or from the big European and Chinese clubs. I am convinced that we are a great team, we just need to be together and watch game after game. The first goal is the playoffs of Euroleague, then let’s see how it goes “.
