With 2.7 seconds remaining in the match between Real Madrid and Baskonia Rudy Fernandez hit the game-winning jumper to grant his team a 75 – 73 comeback victory, in a thrilling battle.
This victory was the seventh consecutive for the “Blancos” in EuroLeague. What makes this streak even more impressive is the fact that they remained injury-plagued, lacking Anthony Randolph, Gustavo Ayon plus MVP Sergio Llull, among others.
Baskonia could’ve escaped the Spanish capital with a win since they had played a strong game, particularly on the defensive end and was up 64 – 72 in the mid of the fourth period. Still, the Basques were completely silenced in the last stretch.

Rudy Fernandez finished with 12 points while Trey Thompkins (13 points, 7 rebounds) and Fabien Causeur (13 points) led Madrid in scoring. Luka Doncic contributed 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists while Edy Tavares notched 20 PIR after 11 points, 7 rebounds and two blocks.
Rodrigue Beaubois had a game-high 15 points and Matt Janning 10 points, as many as Johannes Voigtmann for Baskonia that dropped to 8 – 10 following this loss.
