The defending German champs got a huge and easy win against Crvena Zvezda MTS Belgrade 86:62 on Day 23 of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague. The hosts improved to 9-14, the same record Zvezda has after tonight’s loss.

Zvezda’s defense had no real answer for Dorell Wright. The American forward finished the game with a strong performance. He was one rebound away from the double-double as he had 21 points and 9 boards.

Everything was practically decided in the second quarter. Bamberg was dominating both sides of the floor (25-13) built a double-digit lead and never looked back.

The game started off better for the guests as they made a 7-0 run. Brose waited two and a half minutes for their first points but their 3-point shooting (5/7) got them running. They outran the opponent and created a lot of open shots thanks to the good ball movement. Crvena Zvezda tried to keep up, but a huge 10-1 run for Brose Basket in the last four minutes of the second quarter gave them a 46-36 halftime advantage.

Wright was hot in the first half with 11 points (3/4 for three-point) and seven rebounds. The halftime break could not save the visitors. They simply didn’t have any reaction. Wright hit a buzzer beater three at the end of the third quarter that pushed Bamberg to a 24 points lead (69-45) and the game was practically over.

Dejan Musli was Wright’s right-hand tonight with a double-double performance as he had 13 points and 13 boards. Mathias Lessort had 12 points for the visiting squad, but that was far from enough.
