On Round 24 of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, the host AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan defeated Anadolu Efes Istanbul 77-64 in a contest in which both teams don’t practically have playoffs chances.

Milano had a good game led by Curtis Jerrells who scored 13 points with 5 assists, and it was more than enough against the guests who hit only one three-pointer in 40 minutes of action (1/13). The only high note for Turkish side was the great game in Sony Weems’s return to EuroLeague. He scored 19 points and also grabbed six rebounds.

After a fairly slow and balanced start, the game went Milano’s way in the second quarter, especially with four minutes left when the hosts made an 11-2 run going to halftime with a 44-29 lead. Mostly thanks to the red-hot Jerrells who scored 11 points and added six assists in the second period alone, the hosts got things under control.

On the other side, Efes left a lot of openings, while also shooting poorly beyond the arc, not managing to score any three-pointers (0/8) in the two first quarters. The guests tried getting back into the game after halftime, but Milano always had an answer.

Both teams stay out of the playoff picture. Milano with an 8-16 record and Efes with  6-18.
