After a loss in Spain in their first game this season Crvena Zvezda beat Unicaja Malaga at home 80-76. Dusan Alimpijevic the head coach of  Zvezda was very pleased with the way his players played tonight.

We gained back our confidence scoring 10 triples tonight. It wasn’t easy as we were in a bad position before tonight’s game. I need to congrats to my players. They played really hard as the true fighters do. The only thing that I am not happy about is that we let them grab a lot of offensive rebounds“, stated Alimpijevic.

I am happy that we stayed a team despite a previous loss. You could see the fire in the eyes of our players. We still have minimal chances for the playoffs, but I am happy that we came this far. I am proud that we registered ten wins and that we are in March and still talking about playoffs. We will fight until the end“, promised the youngest coach in the Euroleague.

Joan Plaza knows what cost his team tonight, but he was also proud of his team despite the loss.

“First of all, I am proud of my players. It was easy for them gave up even before the game. They could give up during the game, but they didn’t and I am proud of it. We lose the ball 10 times in the first half. We didn’t take care of the ball and that’s the reason why we lost. We also had a bad shooting night“, said Plaza.

Unicaja‘s coach was asked by reporters how did absent of Nemanja Nedovic in tonight’s game affected his team.

I can cry for Nedovic. I don’t like to talk about it, I don’t like coaches who cries. Nedovic is a key player for us this season, but we don’t like to mase exuces. I can start the press conference with crying about, but if you don’t ask me  I won’t speak about it“, concluded Plaza.
