The journey to Athens from Kaunas was adventurous for Zalgiris‘ squad.
Firefighting vehicles were waiting for Zalgiris Kaunas’ team in the airport of Athens, as the airplane carrying them to Greece experienced a problem with its brakes. In fact, one of the wheels caught fire, once it touched the ground. However, it was immediately set under control.
The players and the coaching staff of the Lithuanian team did not understand any part of the incident and was informed about it after the landing.
Sarunas Jasikevicius and his team are now getting ready for Wednesday’s Game 1 in Piraeus against Olympiacos.
