Real Madrid forward Trey Thompkins, the last-minute hero of the EuroLeague Final against Fenerbahce, couldn’t be prouder of his team following winning the illustrious “Decima”. The 10th European Championship in the history of the franchise.

“I’ll just say this. You got to come to Madrid to be champion of Europe,” Thompkins said after the Final per Postgame.gr. “And this applies to basketball and soccer.”

While the spotlight’s attention (rightfully) fell on potential No. 1 pick Luka Doncic, many Real players contributed to the team’s triumph. Fabien Causeur dropped 15 out of his 17 points in the second half, Walter Tavares was a force inside the paint and sank two key free throws for the 75 – 69. As for Thompkins? Well, he scored perhaps the most important basket of the game after grabbing an offensive rebound following two missed free throws by Causeur, to make it 83 – 78 with 18 seconds remaining.

“Hopefully everyone knows who everybody on this team is at this point. Being the European champion. We have a roster full of guys that can get the job done. And everybody knows it.”
