Panathinaikos announced the signing of American guard Sean Kilpatrick to a contract for the remainder of the season.

Kilpatrick, 29, has played for such teams as the Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets, Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, L.A. Clippers and the Chicago Bulls before joining Panathinaikos. In 157 NBA matches, he’s averaged 10.3 points and 2.7 rebounds over 19.6 minutes per game. He last played with the Bulls, posting 15.4 points in nine games.

With Panathinaikos and under coach Rick Pitino, Kilpatrick will play in EuroLeague for the first time in his career. Panathinaikos was looking for a midseason addition and intensified its efforts to acquire Kilpatrick following the EuroLeague Round 16 loss to Olympiacos.

Coach Rick Pitino talked yesterday about the new member of his roster, who is expected to arrive in Athens in the next few hours.
