Janis Strelnieks picked up a left leg injury playing with the Latvian National Team. He’s expected to remain out for three to four weeks. Olympiacos on the midst of securing a EuroLeague playoffs spot explored the market for a suitable replacement.

David Blatt ultimately decided no addition is needed ahead of the EuroLeague’s deadline for signing players. Free agent Thad McFadden was among the players considered, but the 59-year-old head coach declined preferring the current members of his roster for the rest of the way.

Captain Vassilis Spanoulis is day-to-day on returning to action. Nigel Williams-Goss, Vangelis Mantzaris and newly-acquired Briante Weber are available and are the outside solutions the Reds will rely on.

Following its four-game losing streak, the Greek club is tied for sixth in the EuroLeague. With seven games to go, Olympiacos is pushing for a playoffs spot having the home-court advantage in mind.
