Anadolu Efes made things easy in Barcelona, got back the 2-1 lead in the series and coach Ergin Ataman didn’t hide his satisfaction.
“We played a perfect game“, he said just after the game. “We have an aggressive defense. We had a little tactical change in our defense and we succeeded in this. In the offense, we did not make mistakes as we did in Istanbul. We didn’t stop the ball and let it run. We played from the inside to the outside. We’ve always found open shots, and our scorers, especially Shane Larkin, had a very good night”.
For Ataman this kind of performance was not a surprise: “We’ve played like this the whole season. We didn’t produce very good basketball in Istanbul, but this evening we played excellent basketball as we did all season many times. However, the series is only 2-1. Every match is a different story. Now we will rest and prepare for the second road game”.
Anadolu Efes not only got the win and regain control of the series, after losing Game 2 in Istanbul, but also registered the biggest win ever in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague playoffs.
