Anadolu Efes announced that the club extended coach Ergin Ataman’s contract for two more years. The Turkish coach’s current contract with Efes was expiring at the end of the current season.

With Ataman at the helm, Efes made the EuroLeague championship this season for the first time in the history of the club. Efes beat fellow Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce Beko in the Final Four’s semifinal and was then defeated by CSKA Moscow in the Final.

It was Efes’ return to the Final Four for the first time since 2000. The team was also coached Ataman back then.

Ataman had also coached Efes from 2008 to 2010. He re-joined Efes in December 2017 and led the team to winning the 2018 Turkish Cup.
