Last September, Leo Westermann returned to Zalgiris Kaunas signing a two-year contract with an option for both himself and the Lithuanian team this summer. The 26-year-old French point guard revealed to 24sek that he received an offer from another team but prefers to stay with his current club. The latter may indeed ultimately be the case.

Westermann first joined Zalgiris for the 2016-17 season. He followed up with CSKA Moscow in 2017-18, but returned to the Lithuanian side for the 2018-19 campaign. He averaged 5.9 points, 2.8 assists and 2 rebounds per EuroLeague game, also had 7.3 points, 3.3 assists and 2.2 rebounds per LKL contest.
