After a couple of campaigns with Panathinaikos OPAP, Lukas Lekavicius made his way back to Zalgiris Kaunas. The Lithuanian club confirmed the rumors surrounding the 25-year-old point guard’s return via press release on Monday. Lekavicius signed a one-year contract with an option for an additional season.

“My decision to return was not difficult” the Lithuanian point guard confessed and added: “I wanted more playing time. Zalgiris has improved these past years and entered the EuroLeague elite, so there will be fewer challenges than in Athens. Even though I was held to a bench role behind Nick Calathes, I feel like I’m returning with added experience I will try to use at Kaunas.”

He’s coming off 33 EuroLeague appearances during the 2018-19 season with 4 points and 1.3 assists per contest. Lekavicius also averaged 7 points per Greek Basket League game.
