Panathinaikos has reached a deal in principle with Jimmer Fredette for a two-year contract, sources from Las Vegas tell Eurohoops.

The Greek club has been trying to get Fredette multiple times over the years and finally succeeded. The player will make his debut in Europe after eight seasons in the NBA and Chinese League.

Fredette, 30, was selected with the 10th pick in the 2011 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks and has played in the NBA with Kings, Bulls, Pelicans, Knicks, and Suns. He spent the previous three seasons in the Chinese League with Shanghai Sharks.

This past season, he averaged 36 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.6 steals over 45 games with the Sharks.

During his college career, his personal scoring record for a single game was 52 points, while last November he scored 75 points in the Chinese CBA.

Those numbers don’t necessarily translate to European basketball, however, Fredette is expected to be a main candidate for the EuroLeague top scorer award next season.
