Jeremy Evans is finalizing a deal with Khimki Moscow Region, according to Eurohoops sources.
Evans’ primary goal this offseason was to return to the NBA, where he played with the Jazz, Mavericks, and Hawks. He also had an offer from Olympiacos but in the end, he will move to Khimki for the next season.
The Greek club which started negotiating with him at the start of the summer changed its focus two weeks ago because Evans wanted to wait for the NBA or include an NBA out clause for this summer in any deal.
The 31-year-old American big averaged 9.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague this past season with Darussafaka Tekfen.
Khimki kept Rimas Kurtinaitis as the head coach and might end up having quite a bit of NBA experience on the roster. They’ve penned a deal with Dairis Bertans yesterday (8/7) while they are also in negotiations with Timofey Mozgov.
