Fenerbahce Beko guard Leo Westermann confessed to having fulfilled a childhood dream by signing with the Turkish powerhouse this summer: Playing under Zeljko Obradovic.

“He’s [Zeljko Obradovic] the only coach in Europe that I’ve always dreamed of practicing and playing for since childhood,” Westermann said in an interview with 15min.lt. “When you play under him you always know you have the best chance of winning the EuroLeague and playing on a top-tier team.

Westermann spent two seasons with Zalgiris Kaunas playing under Sarunas Jasikevicius. The latter was coached by Obradovic from 2008 to 2010 and 2011 – 2012 on Panathinaikos.

“He’s [Obradovic] like Saras,” the French guard said. “He’s like Saras. He is tough on the court, shouts on you. But off the court, he is an amazing person. They share a pretty similar basketball philosophy. I’ve heard only the best things about Zeljko.”
