Despite initial complications, Fenerbahce Beko is set for the return of James Nunnally. According to Eurohoops sources, Fener has agreed in principle with the 29-year-old American swingman and is expected to confirm his addition in the coming hours. Nunnally will ink a contract for the remainder of the 2019-20 season.

The former UC Santa Barbara standout was among the players approached with the Turkish club in the market for a boost to its backcourt. His contract with the Shanghai Sharks was the tough part, but Nunnally will be released from the CBA team.

Down 6-11 in EuroLeague, Fenerbahce hopes to launch a turnaround bid and rise in the standings. With returning Nunnally back in his squad, Zeljko Obradovic receives one additional piece looking towards correcting his team’s W-L record.

Playing for the Sharks in China, Nunnally averaged 22.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals per CBA contest. Now makes his way back to Europe’s premier club competition with 73 previous matches under his belt.

UPDATE: Fenerbahce Beko confirms Nunnally’s return via press release.
