Australia became the first team to qualify in the Rio Olympics by beating twice New Zealand. The “Boomers” beat twice the “Tall Blacks” who will have one more chance to qualify in one of the three upcoming FIBA pre-olympic tournaments.

Australia got the 89-79 road win behind a double double by Andrew Bogut (10 p., 11 r.), Mat Dellavedova added 14 points and Cameron Bairstow had 10. Australia had also prevailed in the first leg of the series (71-59). Still new Zealand danced one heck of a Haka.
