Marc Gasol spoke to the Spanish newspaper “As” about not being able to help this summer the Spanish national team and confirmed that he wants to return next summer for the Olympic games in Rio.
“The truth is that just watching basketball from the outside makes you suffer more than playing. Memphis asked me to take this summer off and I had to give them that pleasure. I can not ask people to understand it or share it, but for a player, playing and being part of a team like Spain is important”.
That’s why Gasol is already thinking of next summer: “If I am able to help the team, I’ll be at the Games in Rio. And if we had to play an Olympic qualifying, I assure you that I would be there also”.
