Bayern Munich was seconds away from the big win at Madrid, but the champions managed to get the 101-99 win at the buzzer thanks to a big three by Jaycee Carroll!
The American sharp shooter executed the Germans and decided the outcome with a great shot. It was hard to imagine such an outcome with 4 minutes left on the clock and Bayern leading with ten points (91-81). Still Real Madrid made the come back with a 19-5 run and Sergio Llull scoring 8 points. Real got a 98-96 lead and Alex Renfroe answered with a big three, giving the lead back to Bayern (99-98). Still the final word belonged to Real and Carroll.
It was obvious that the two teams will fight until the end. They were tied at 51 at half time, after a 33-18 start of the game for Real. Rudy Fernandez and Felipe Reyes scored 20 points each for the winners, Reyes had also 11 rebounds, Sergio Llull added 18 points and Jaycee Carroll had 14 points.
Nihad Djedovic scored 22 points for Bayern, Renfroe added 21 points and K.C.Rivers had 15 points against his former team.
