With an amazing first quarter (14-33), Laboral Kutxa destroyed Zalgiris Kaunas on the road (68-89) in top-16’s opening game. For the winners, five players scored in double figures, with Darius Adams having 16. On the other hand, Olivier Hanlan scored 16 points for the losing squad, as Ian Vougioukas added 13 and seven rebounds.

The Spaniards made a tremendous start to the game, playing incredibly well on both ends of the floor, and claimed a 19-point advantage at the end of the first quarter (14-33). Later, things didn’t change at all, as the visitors continued to be dominant (22-49), with the first half ending with Laboral Kutxa in front by 15 (40-55).

In the second half, Zalgiris Kaunas tried to make a big come-back and made a 16-9 run to cut the deficit to single digits (55-64), after 30 minutes in the game. But, Velimir Perasovic‘s players were simply unstoppable and outscored their opponents 13-25 in the last quarter to earn a big victory on the road.
