Maccabi Tel Aviv is trying to save its season and at least the Israeli powerhouse won the national cup of its country over Maccabi Ashdod (83-75).

Gal Mekel with 21 points and 6 assists led Maccabi to the 43rd cup of its history, Devin Smith and Sylven Landesberg added 14 points and Elijah Millsap had 10 points. Charles Thomas scored 30 points for the losing side.

Maccabi Tel Aviv had a 50-38 half time lead, however the third quarter ended with Ashdod trailing by six points (65-59). With five minutes left Maccabi had just a two point advantage (71-69), but Smith and Landesberg started a 9-2 run that decided the outcome.
