With an amazing offensive performance, CSKA easily beat Khimki 108-98 in the Russian derby. This was the sixth win for the hosts (6-2), whereas the visitors suffered their fourth defeat (4-4).

For the winners, Milos Teodosic scored 26 points, with Nando De Colo adding 19 and eight assists. On the other hand, five players scored in double figures for the losing squad, as Tyrese Rice and Alexey Shved had 16 points each.

CSKA Moscow made a better start to the game and quickly took a double-digit advantage (18-6), playing very well on both ends of the floor. However, Khimki responded and went on a 17-10 run to cut the deficit to five, at the end of the first quarter (28-23).

Later, the hosts retained their lead (36-28, 40-35), but Rice scored six straight points to give his team an one-point advantage (40-41). CSKA, though, went on a 12-5 run to end the first half in front by seven (53-46), as De Colo hit a three-pointer at the buzzer.

In the second half, Dimitris Itoudis’ players quickly brought their lead back to double digits (60-50) and retained it until the end of the third quarter (65-54, 70-60, 77-66), as Khimki were playing mediocre defensively.

In the fourth quarter, the hosts extended their advantage to 14 points (80-66), however Rimas Kurtinaitis’ team enhanced its overall performance, went on a 9-18 run and was down by five (89-84), with five minutes to go.

Three three-pointers, though, from Teodosic and De Colo helped CSKA secure the victory (98-86), as the visitors, despite a 9-0 run of their own (102-95), ran out of time and couldn’t make a come-back.
