The San Antonio Spurs may have got a steal in Davis Bertans, not only on the court, but also moneywise.
The former Baskonia player wanted to get a shot in the NBA, he got his chance, but on financial terms the contract he got can’t be compared with the money spend on other European players this summer. Bertans signed a 2-year contract which will pay him in total $1,5 million, while the Spurs also paid his $650.000 buy out to Baskonia.
Of course, Bertans can get a much better contract in the future, if he proves that he can be a rotation player in the NBA.
