Rudy Gobert didn’t like the French national team’s behavior in the game against Australia and as he said to the French news agency AFP he expects the team to react.

“After halftime, we came back on the floor being a little too nice. Just like the way we entered the game”, he explained. “They have good shooters, move the ball very well and play well together. Especially when you do not respond by playing hard. But I think that we were a little bit afraid and hesitant. They were not. They pushed us out of our own game.”

Does he believe that he and his teammates can salvage something from this defeat? “When you take a slap like that, it can help you find rhythm for your next game. Sometimes it is better to start like this, rather than winning easily in the beginning. It’s good that this slap came now. We still have four games in the Group. We will be ready for the match vs China on Monday.”
