Every quarterfinal game has its own story, however Serbia against Croatia is stealing the show. The tension is already high and just after the game against Lithuania, Alexander Petrovic wasn’t shy about his opinion.
The coach of Croatia spoke on the matter: “This team beat the first and second medal winners from the last European Championship. This says everything about this team. I am very pleased. Avoiding the USA, we ran into the Serbs. Long ago, our basketball was not close to the zone of the medals in this kind of tournaments. We have enough time to prepare. We played against Serbia, they were without Teodosic and we didn’t have Hezonja. It’s good to know that they were rooting for Lithuania, because they feel that they are easier opponents. We’re not interested who is our opponent, just that they are not the Americans”.
Dario Saric added: “Obviously we wanted to win more than Lithuanians who knew that they would face Australia. We played great, especially in the third quarter. It is very important to avoid the US in the quarterfinals. It’s time for us now against Serbia”.
