Behind 18 points and 14 rebounds by Bosnian Jusuf Nurkic and with Serb Nikola Jokic adding 8 points and 10 rebounds the Nuggets beat the Lakers in the preseason with 101-97.
Spanish rookie Willy Hernangomez added 8 points, while Italian star Danilo Gallinari didn’t play. For the Lakers Russian starter Timofey Mozgov had 5 points and 4 rebounds, while Spaniard Jose Calderon and Croatian Ivica Zubac played limited minutes.
In the only other pre-season game of the night the Blazers beat the Suns (115-110) which used Ukrainian Alex Len as their starting center (8 p., 7 r.) and got also 5 points and 3 rebounds by Croatian Dragan Bender.
