A key three-pointer by Jacob Pullen with only seconds to go plus his raving action in the the third quarter, granted Khimki Moscow a 76 – 71 victory over Lietuvos Rytas in the premiere for Group B in the new Eurocup season.

Apart from scoring 13 points, Pullen was the one to bang the basket that “wrote” the final score with 15 seconds to go, minimazing Rytas’ chances to win.

Earl Rowland was the winner’s top performer with 15 points, 4 assists, 3 stealh. From Lietuvos Rytas, Drew Gordon registered an impressive double-double of 21 points plus 14 rebounds and Arturas Gudaitis scoring 17 points.

After an impressive 16-0 run which transformed the 43 – 49 into 59 – 49 during the third period, the Russian team had managed to retain a small, yet steady lead against its opponents. And when Boungou Colo dunked the ball for the 73 – 65 with one minute to go left on the game clock, things looked safe for his team. But they weren’t.

David Logan scored a quick basket and then stole the ball to renew Rytas’ hopes. which Corey Fisher expanded by making all his free throws after winning a foul on a three-point attempt! But then Pullen “spoke” and the rest was history.
