Shaquielle McKissic opted to depart from Besiktas Sompo Sigorta claiming the Turkish club failed to pay his salaries, Sportando reported first and Eurohoops sources confirmed.
The 29-year-old forward joined Besiktas last July. Since helped his side advance to the Basketball Champions League playoffs with 16.6 points, 4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.1 steals per appearance, also posted 17.6 points per Super Ligi contest.
Former Besiktas star, Jordan Theodore noted via Twitter on Friday that he also due money from the Turkish outlet. “They just confirmed I won’t be getting my check today,” he wrote, “I already knew that though. They are winning games and can’t pay the players they have.”
The team coached by Burak Biyiktay is set for BCL Round of 16 riding a 7-6 W-L tally in Group D. Sits eighth in BSL with an 8-9 record.
