Sluggish starts to the second and third quarter did not prevent Nizhny Novgorod from prevailing in Latvia.

Nizhny Novgorod came back from a double-digit deficit in the fourth period for the 81-74 win against VEF Riga on Tuesday evening at Riga, Latvia.

Brandon Brown posted a 24-point, 11-assist double-double at the Arena Riga. Evgeny Baburin put in 18 points and Anton Astapkovich added 15 points helping their team claim the Basketball Champions League Regular Season Gameday 14 victory.

Lester Medford scored a team-high 21 points in losing effort. Janis Blums and Kristijan Krajina both went for 12 points.

Zoran Lukic’s club got to 9-5 with the “W” and sealed third place in Group C. Janis Gailitis’ side wrapped up its BCL run with a 1-13 record.
