Turk Telekom swept the series vs. Besiktas to punch its ticket to the quarterfinals.

Turk Telekom joins the quarterfinals race after an 84-66 victory over fellow Turkish League competitors Besiktas to complete its Top 16 sweep on the road. They will be facing the winner of the Nizhny Novgorod – Dijon duo, which will be decided in Game 3 after the Russian side evened the series Wednesday.

Nick Johnson led the efforts of the visiting side by posting 27 points on 10-15 FG, along with 8 assists and 5 rebounds. TJ Campell perfectly complemented Johnson’s efforts with 16 points, while also dishing 6 assists.

Besiktas’ Oguz Savas posted a team-high performance of 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists, as Burak Yildizli followed with 13 points and 7 rebounds.

Besiktas wanted revenge for Game 1 in its own homecourt and managed to lead 22-18 after the first 10 minutes, though soon enough the tables turned in the second period. Johnson’s productivity helped the visiting side grab a 46-37 lead at halftime.

Enes Taskiran (12 points) made it a 20-point game (61-41) at the beginning of the third period, as Burak Goren’s team held on to a 68-51 lead while heading into the fourth period. The compelling Johnson-Campell duo made sure to keep Turk Telekom in charge in the fourth, en route to this victory.
