A rare home loss brings JDA Dijon to the brink of elimination

By Eurohoops Team/ info@eurohoops.net

Tofas Bursa marched to a huge away win, 90-61, over JDA Dijon Tuesday.

Tarik Phillip was the key of the Basketball Champions League match originally scheduled as part of Gameday 7 with 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals to his name. Berkan Durmaz powered by four early three-pointers piled up 15 points and DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell posted a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double.

The hosts fell well behind from the first quarter and struggled to get things going thereafter. Laurent Legname’s team was outplayed in the paint and completed only one fast break. The 14 points by Chase Simon were not enough.

Both teams went 3-2 in Group B, but the Turkish club gained the tiebreaker advantage. A win over ERA Nymburk will clinch them a berth in the next round, while Dijon needs to beat Keravnos and hope for the all but advanced Czech team to stand over Tofas.
