VEF Riga secures the services of Latvian big Ilja Gromovs, the team announced.
Gromovs, 26, is back for a second stint with the Latvian club. His first lasted from 2016 to 2018. He went on to Jurmala and joined Liepaja last season averaging 12.6 points per game in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League.
VEF Riga has already signed Maris Gulbis and Jalen Riley for the next season. Also, the team retained Alexander Madsen, Kristers Zoriks, Artis Ate, and Emils Krumins.
The Latvian side is gearing up for the Basketball Champions League Regular Season. AEK, Falco Szombathely, and one more team out of the qualifiers are the Group D rivals.
