Zoltan Perl scored six of his team-high 18 points in the last minute leaving his mark on the Falco Szombathely win, 81-80, versus NutriBullet Treviso Wednesday.

The 26-year-old Hungarian guard extended his streak of double-digit Basketball Champions League showings to 12 games. In addition, his side prevented the Italian club from clinching a berth to the Round of 16 but failed to also earn the tiebreaker advantage.

Captain Benedek Varadi logged 17 points to go along with five rebounds, five assists, and two steals in the Regular Season Round 4 fixture. Benke Szilard and Boris Barac put in 13 points apiece for Hungary’s NB I/A undefeated leaders.

Lithuanian Tomas Dimsa missed the final shot of the exciting contest after scoring seven out of his 16 points in the last two minutes. He became the fifth player registering at least 16 points in eight Champions League games in a row but fell short in the late showdown with Perl at the hot Savaria Arena.

Former Rhode Island standout, Nicola Akele recorded a season-high 22 points for Massimiliano Menetti’s side. DeWayne Russell had 15 points, while Polish import Michał Sokołowski ended up with ten points, eight rebounds, and six assists in the losing effort.

Both teams are now 3-1 in Group D. Coming up for the team based in Szombathely the away fixture opposite AEK and for the Treviso side the visit at VEF Riga. Both Round 5 affairs are scheduled to take place on December 14.
