Hapoel Jerusalem has signed big man John Egbunu to a deal for the remainder of the season, the club announced Saturday.

Egbunu, 27, arrives in Jerusalem from Varese, where he spent the first half of the season. He averaged 11 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game in the Italian LegaBasket.

The Nigerian big started his career with the Long Island Nets in the G-League in 2019, then moved to South Korea’s Busan KT Sonicboom for the 2020-21 campaign and landed in Europe this summer for Varese.

Hapoel faces BAXI Manresa on the road this upcoming Tuesday (December 28) for the finale of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season. The Israeli side has already qualified for the Play-Ins of the competition.
