Terrell Gomez has inked a contract for the rest of the 2021-22 season with JDA Dijon, the team announced Wednesday.

Gomez, 24, comes in as additional depth to the point guard position. Chicago State product and Dijon leader David Holston playing heavy minutes through the 2021-22 campaign so far generated a need for an additional point guard moving into the crunch time of both the Basketball Champions League and Betclic Elite LNB Pro A campaigns. German international Joshiko Saibou stuck on the injury list from the beginning of the season forced the hand for the French outlet.

La Jeanne newcomer split his NCAA career between Cal State Northridge and San Diego State transferring to the Aztecs for his senior season. After opting to turn professional, he joined Final GSK and put up 21.6 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game in Turkey’s second division for the team based in Bursa.

Moving to the first-tier division of France and expanding into the BCL, Gomez meets his new side at 2-1 in Group I of the Champions League Round of 16 and 11-8 in the French League.

A packed schedule awaits following the international break as the team coached by Bosnian tactician Nenad Markovic is set to visit Roanne on March 5, host Le Mans on March 7, and stay at Palais des Sports Jean-Michel Geoffroy to take on German club MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg on March 9. From there, another home game opposite Turkish Airlines EuroLeague outfit LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne on March 12.

Hapoel Holon adds Omer Tal

More transfer news as Dijon’s Group I rival Hapoel U-NET Holon signed Omer Tal for the remainder of the season with an option for the next season, the team announced. The Israeli guard averaged 4.3 points, 1.8 assists, and 1.0 rebounds per Winner League contest as a member of Hapoel Nofar Energy Galil Elion since the start of 2021-22.

The Israeli club, coached by Guy Goodes, standing at 1-1 is tied with Ludwigsburg in the group. Galatasaray Nef follows at 0-1. The top two teams at the conclusion of the six-game double-legged round-robin schedule will progress to the BCL Quarterfinals.
