Unicaja Malaga started the season on a high note, beating Dinamo Sassari in PalaSerradimigni 76-87. With this disappointing game, the hosts have lost six of their last six games against Spanish teams in the Basketball Champions League.

The Dylan Osetkowski-David Kravish-Tyler Kalinoski trio combined for 53 points, leading their team. Kendrick Perry struggled shooting, as he ended with 3 points and 1/5 from the field.

Chinanu Onuaku, who already became a local idol for his underhanded free-throw shooting style, did his best and ended with 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. Eimantas Bendzius and Gerald Robinson combined for 32 points, but it was not enough.

Dinamo Sassari started the game very well, going up by 15 points in the first quarter. From then on, Unicaja Malaga fought back and managed to take the lead, taking advantage of a better contribution from the bench than their opponents: the hosts had 18 points from their second unit, Ibon Navarro’s players stood up with 57.

Unicaja, which is taking part in its second BCL season, after reaching the quarter-finals in 2021-22, had lost five of its last six away games in the competition before tonight. With this victory, they got on top of Group G with Dijon, which earlier in the day beat PAOK 70-66.
