A two-win cushion was created for Surne Bilbao getting the job done on the road, 85-80, against the Bosnia-Herzegovina champion Igokea m:tel in Laktasi Sports Hall Wednesday night.

Swedish Ludvig Hakanson added to his solid start to the 2022-23 campaign with 16 points and six assists. Ignacio Rosa enjoyed a season-high 17 points without scoring in the second half of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season Gameday 3 affair. Jeff Withey chipped in 11 points. More help from FC Barcelona youth product Agustin Ubal and his eight points in this BCL debut.

Nikola Radicevic was sidelined along with long-term members of the injury list Andrew Goudelock and Tomeu Rigo. But the team coached by Jaume Ponsarnau, currently at 3-3 in Spain’s Liga Endesa, went up to 3-0 in Group D with a second win away from home. All three opponents, including Igokea, hit the halfway mark of the six-game schedule at 1-2.

On the heels of an AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season Round 5 loss to Crvena Zvezda mts Monday, the team coached by Dragan Bajic led for over 22 minutes but was held to catch-up mode in crunch time. Experienced combo guard Antabia Waller tucking in seven three-pointers in a 25-point effort was not enough.

With Mario Nakic projected to miss several months, possibly the rest of the season, only ten players suited up. Following Waller on the scoring list, Deshawn Stephens paired his 11 points with eight rebounds. Kendrick Ray was struggling, limited to 1/10 from the field and a low total of three points.
