Just a couple of days after they parted ways with Chinanu Onuaku, Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari announced the signing of a 33-year-old center Deshawn Stephens.
As officially stated, Stephens joined the club from Igokea and signed a contract until the end of the season.
“The Biancoblu thanks the Igokea for the willingness shown in negotiating and in being able to free the player, “the statement says.
Stephens already wore the shirts of Cagliari, Fortitudo Bologna, and Scafati in Italy. Last season he arrived at Igokea, where he stayed for another one. But Dinamo came knocking and made a deal with an experienced center.
Last season he averaged over 10 points with an average of six rebounds in 21 minutes, while during the current one he had started even better with almost 13 points and eight rebounds per game, playing both in the Adriatic League and in the Basketball Champions League.
Deshawn Stephens will debut for Sassari on November 20 at home against former club Scafati.
Dinamo Sassari didn’t start the season well. After six rounds in LBA, they are 14th with a 2-4 score, while in BCL they are winless after three rounds.
