Newcomer for Darussafaka ahead of the Play-In stage of the Basketball Champions League.

Aaron White became a new player for Dacka, the team announced Sunday.

White, 30, is back in the BCL following the 2019-20 stint at Iberostar Tenerife. He then logged five games played averaging 10.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per contest.

This season, the Iowa product played for Buducnost VOLI logging 7.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game in the 7DAYS EuroCup, plus 6.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per AdmiralBet ABA League. But has been sidelined since early December.

Switching to Darussafaka, the Istanbul outfit recently arranged a date with Portugal champions Benfica in a best-of-three Play-In series for a spot in the Round of 16 of the Champions League. At the domestic level, Selcuk Ernak’s side sits at 6-5 in Turkey’s BSL.

In 2015, White was selected with the 49th overall pick in the NBA draft by the Washington Wizards. In 2019, his rights were traded to the Brooklyn Nets.

From the Hawkeyes and the draft, he moved his talents overseas competing in Germany, Russia, Lithuania, Italy, Spain, Greece, and Serbia, prior to the brief spell at the Montenegro champions. A long list of championships captured includes the 2020 FIBA Intercontinental Cup as a member of Tenerife.

Between Zalgiris, AX Armani Exchange Milan, Panathinaikos, and Crvena Zvezda mts, he made his way to 136 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games and additionally recorded 32 appearances in EuroCup, the second-tier club continental competition of Euroleague Basketball.
