Six wins in the Regular Season, three victories in the Round of 16: years pass by in the Basketball Champions League, but things don’t change for Tenerife.
The two-time champions, coached by Txus Vidorreta, extended their winning streak to nine consecutive games, surviving Aliaga Petkimspor’s effort to take down the Turkish team 90-83 at home.
Thomas Scrubb led the black-and-yellow team with 15 points, followed by Aaron Doornekamp (12 points), Joan Sastre (11 points), and David Kramer (10 points.)
Proving once again to be an endless competitor, Marcelinho Huertas went close to a double-double with 9 points and 9 assists to lead his team against Petkimspor.
Despite never being able to take the lead, the guests proved at times to be competitive with Bryson Williams’ double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Peyton Aldridge added 17 points.
Waiting for the other matchup of the week in Group K, as Pallacanestro Reggiana will host BAXI Manresa on Wednesday night, La Laguna Tenerife stays on top at 3-0, while Petkimspor is 0-3.
