Despite showing unprecedented supremacy to start this Basketball Champions League, Unicaja couldn’t extend their winning streak in the competition over 18 consecutive games.
Galatasaray showed to the whole European basketball scene that the reigning champions coached by Ibon Navarro could have been beaten, interrupting such an amazing streak.
Returning to Turkiye for the first time since losing to the red-and-yellow side, they traveled all the way to Manisa. Getting the 103-97 road victory, they clinched a spot for the Quarter-Finals.
Kameron Taylor was the big protagonist of Unicaja‘s victory in the latest gameday of the Round of 16, dropping 33 points over 11/15 from the field and 7/9 at the line.
Kendrick Perry (18 points) and Killian Tillie (13 points) contributed as well in Unicaja’s victory; on the other side, Fabian White (20 points), Hugo Besson (15 points, 8 assists, and 6 steals), and Jo Lual-Acuil (22 points and 9 rebounds).
Thanks to this victory, the reigning champions officially clinched a spot for the following stage. In the other matchup in Group J, Galatasaray and Rytas Vilnius battled for another spot in the Quarter-Finals.
