Galatasaray announced the signing of 30-year-old combo guard Rob Gray on Friday.
After putting up 21.1 points per game in Italy’s LBA UnipolSai Regular Season with Givova Scafati, Gray penned a contract with the Lions for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.
Earlier Friday, the storied Istanbul-based club was drawn against ERA Nymburk in the Quarterfinals of the Basketball Champions League. A best-of-three series opposite a homecourt advantage carried by the Czech champions was set up to decide a spot in the Final Four. At the domestic level, the team guided by Yakup Sekizkok currently ranks sixth with a 12-10 record.
During the 2022-23 campaign, the native of North Carolina logged ten BCL appearances with Tofas. His additional continental experience ranges from eight Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games with Monaco and 26 in the BKT EuroCup between La Roca Team, Prometey, and Metropolitans 92.
Coming out of Houston in 2018, Gray started his professional career in the G League with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants after a Preseason stint with the Houston Rockets.
Using overseas options, he inked a deal with JL Bourg to finish the 2018-19 campaign. Staying in France, he joined Metropolitans for the 2019-20 season. Spending the next two years at Monaco, he was crowned EuroCup champion and named Finals MVP in 2021.
Introducing himself to the BSL, the explosive guard played for Tofas in 2022-23. Prometey and Rio Breogan were his teams through the 2023-24 journey before switching to Scafati to start the 2024-25 season.
