Following what they were able to provide for the vast majority of this Basketball Champions League campaign, everybody was expecting AEK to come out strong in the Quarter-Finals.
Instead, Nanterre did it all in order to prevent the Queen from grabbing an easy victory in front of their home fans. At the end of a 40-minute hard-fourth battle, the home side won 76–69.
Hunter Hale started the game with 16 points in the first two quarters, and scored four more decisive points in the end as well. Prentiss Hubb (15 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals) contributed too for AEK.
Tonight’s matchup also saw Rayjon Tucker debuting with the black-and-gold team after starting this season with Virtus Segafredo Bologna in the EuroLeague. He scored 4 points.
Roko Prkacin had one of the best games of his season, putting up 16 points and 6 rebounds, shooting 7/9 from the field. Paul Lacombe had 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists.
Whoever between AEK and Nanterre wins this current campaign’s best-of-three-game Quarter-Finals series will host the Basketball Champions League Final Four at home.
