Spring is here, the flowers are blossoming, and the Basketball Champions League Final Four is coming right next, in the second week of May. Following the neutral site of Belgrade in 2023-24, this time, one of the four participants will host the event once again.
The resounding 35-point triumph at home in Game 3 of the Quarter-Finals against Nanterre not only gave AEK the pass to the event five years after the last time, but also to organize it.
They will face the reigning champions Unicaja in the Semi-Finals, as Ibon Navarro’s team reached the Final Four in three consecutive seasons. In 2023, they lost at home in Malaga, while in 202,4 they stood on top of everybody else, conquering the trophy for the first time in the club’s history.
In the other Semi-Finals, Galatasaray and Tenerife will go up against. The Turkish Lions overcame the challenge of ERA Nymburk, while Txus Vidorreta’s team managed to eliminate Derthona.
Except for AEK, dragged by Hunter Hale against the French opponents, all of the other best-of-three series got decided in two games, with three sweeps.
